The Maiden and the Dragon

Whew! I'm quite surprised with this one. Originally I hadn't thought I'd manage an entry this time, having absolutely no inspiration for a background or even any relationship between the two characters, but then I just started playing around and this came out.

I must say I'm pleased, actually quite pleased with how the fire came out. Now I know it's not great but this is so many times better than any attempt I've ever made before, so I'm happy.

Also, I came up with a silly little background for these characters, as I interpret them. The maiden was traveling with an entourage when they came under attack. Somehow or another she got her hands on a sword that was being carried along in the caravan and got possessed by it. And no, the dragon isn't shooting flame at her, but rather the sword and the dragon are one (maybe the dragon doesn't even appear until the sword is in use?) and so they kinda lend each other power. (Or if you really want we can pretend it was a sorceress in disguise all along, traveling incognito either because of trying to protect the sword or because she was trying to draw out the attackers. Either way. haha)
